→Out of Character
01 – We expect for all our members to be respectful to each other. We will not tolerate any insults about someone’s race, gender, sexual orientation, or anything else. I’m not kidding around, guys. You might get one warning. If it was bad enough, you’re out. We will not tolerate anything disrespectful.
Please note – we will give you a chance to defend yourself. If you were just kidding around and you didn’t hurt the other persons feelings – or if you accidentally did and you apologize – we’re not going to ban you. Mistakes happen.
02 -- Please don’t nag anyone for posts. Trust me, I used to do it and it didn’t get me anywhere, it just made everyone mad. It’s annoying and sometimes we’re busy, or running low on creativity, or something else. Just don’t do it.
03 -- When you're in OoC, you're welcome to use chatspeak. Just remember, though, we really do prefer English, and as it's a literate roleplay site, we expect you to maintain good grammar as often as possible.
04 – Language is tolerated, but remember, if you cuss too much it just loses its affect. Please don’t swear three times every sentence – you’re not Brad Pitt.
05 – You don’t need an out of character account. The admins will have one, but that’s it. We’ll have a Who’s who list, so if you need to know who plays who, check there.
06 -- This may seem unrelated, but the limit on signature sizes is 300 (height) x 500 (width). If we remind you and you don’t resize it, we’ll delete it. Not kidding.
07 -- If you are going to be gone for longer than a week, please let us know. There is a board for it, and we do need to know when our people will be gone.
→In Character
01 -- First things first: this is a literate site! This means that your posts should contain appropriate grammar, as well as good spelling. Also, your post should be at least one good paragraph, if not two-- A good paragraph is 5-8 complete sentences, just like in school, right? If you can't think of that much, wait until you can, or ask the other people to skip you. You won’t be getting replies and you will be asked to add on to your post if it fails under the limitations.
02 – Ask the other roleplayer if you want to start up a plot. If they don’t want to do it, then just accept it and maybe ask someone else.
03 -- Please create an account for each character you create, and change the name of these accounts to your character's first and last name. Also, tasteful usernames please – no sexybabe or crap like that.
04 -- The character limit for one roleplayer is 4 characters. If you would like more, ask an admin-- chances are, if you're active with all of your current accounts, we'll let you add more. Don’t throw a fit if we refuse – just prove us wrong and you can have that character.
05 -- Please, no godmodding. You're here to roleplay for your characters, not other peoples'. You know all the other stuff too.
06 -- No Mary-Sues, either. If you have a question as to what a Mary-Sue is, or whether your character is one, have this.
07 -- Remember, everyone has limits. If your roleplay goes over what would be accepted in a PG movie, tag it as mature. Seriously. Keep it tasteful – we’re not all 18 who’ve seen a million horror movies and swear like sailors.
08 -- Tag your roleplays accordingly. If it's open, tag it as such. If it is reserved for another person, same thing.
09 -- Just because your character dislikes or likes another person's character doesn't mean you have to feel the same. But, just as we expect you to treat our roleplayers, be open-minded when dealing with characters. Sometimes you don’t like a character. Okay, just don’t go railing about it.
10 -- Once a play-by or a name is claimed, it cannot be claimed again. There will be a Face Claim. Also, if your character is a sibling of another character, make sure you ask the other character's roleplayer first. If someone else has the model you wanted, too bad. They got it first and we won’t tolerate hissy fits. Likewise if someone doesn’t want their character to have a sibling.
11 -- Please do not post in the forums or the ICbox until your character has been accepted. Seriously, people.
12 -- I cannot stress this enough. Do not randomly delete characters. Relationships between characters build up, and they can't just disappear in one day. If you would like to delete a character, first let an admin know, and then finish your character's stay. There are plenty of reasons why a person would leave Hogwarts. If you just quit, we’ll assume they dropped out or got expelled.
→The Cbox
01 -- There will be no fighting in the Cbox. It's supposed to be a way for the members to chat and if Izzy or Anna see fighting, we reserve the right to ban you from the Cbox, and maybe even RE in general. If you have a conflict, let us know so that we can solve it peacefully.
02 -- You can post in the Cbox whether you are a member or a guest, or if your character hasn't been accepted yet.
03 -- Spamming is allowed in the Cbox. Obviously, sometimes it gets a little boring around here, when the password is hoggy warty hogwarts. But don't do it too much, or the Cbox will automatically ban your IP address.
04 -- Please don't talk about plots you have with another roleplayer in the cbox. That's what PMs are for. It spams it up and no one knows what you’re talking about.
05 -- Keep foul language at a minimum. Guests see this, you know. I don’t want some poor 13 year old who’s innocent and uncorrupted seeing it.
06 -- Chatspeak is most definitely allowed in the Cbox.
07 -- Please keep In-character chat out of the Cbox. We may add an ICbox. If so, it goes there.
That's the end, though Izzy and Anna reserve the right to add more if we feel it's necessary. Thanks for sticking it through. Really, these rules aren't that hard to follow, I promise. Now that we're done with that, though, you can head on over and make your character.
