It has been almost twenty-five years since the downfall of a certain dark wizard. The teens that were responsible for said event have since grown up. Nowadays, it's their children who walk the hallways of Hogwarts. The times thy live in aren't without conflict, but for the most part, everyone has been resting easy for awhile now. And Hogwarts? Well, nothing has really changed at the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Or has it?
Since the end of the Second Wizarding War, Hogwarts has been undergoing an influx in students. Especially, it seems, in Muggleborn students. Maybe it was something in the water-- maybe it was just hidden Wizard blood. Whatever the case, these kids have been popping up like waffles from a toaster, and Hogwarts will always have a place for any of them who wish to learn. Of course, that's not to say that everyone else will.
Where would we be without dear old Slytherin? It couldn't be clearer to anyone that not much has changed there, where students can lie through their teeth and still hold the same haughtiness and morality taught by Daddy dearest. Not to say that all of them are like that-- just most. As soon as the influx started, there seemed to be an upgrade in the sneer department, and that was where the problem began.
Of course, not much could've come of it, without someone on the other side to stick up for the poor Muggleborns. And who better than the Gryffindors? It started with a few words-- an insult, here or there-- but then, as these things tend to do, it got out of control. Students were fighting all over the school, hexing each other just for a muttered insult. Kids were even ending up in the Hospital Wing-- that was how bad it got.
Naturally, the Headmaster put a stop to it soon enough. The kids involved received expulsions, detentions-- it all depended on the severity of the duel. After that, all was quiet.
Except, it wasn't. After that, kids learned to be a lot sneakier about how they deal with one another. Whenever a blind eye is turned, students are cursing eachother under their breath. Some end up hurt, some end up prideful-- but no one is going to end up particularly well, at this point. It's pure versus mud. It's Gryffindor versus Slytherin. It's whatever it takes.
So what are you? Will you choose to take life as you normally have? Or will you choose a side? Will you stay on the sidelines where you belong? Or will you be one of the ones battling it out? It's a choice you've got to make, here at Remain Empty.
